William Till’s London (Middlesex) farthing token dated 1834. Obverse: Shield of arms above banner reading: “ANTIQUAM OBTINENS”, with legend: “WM. TILL 17 GT. RUSSELL ST. COVENT GDN. LONDON. 1834”. Reverse: Legend on four lines within floral wreath: “DEALER IN COINS MEDALS ANTIQUES &C”. Plain edge. William Till was a well known London coin dealer who issued a number of tokens which were for sale to collectors. Comes with old collector's ticket and envelopes, bought from Spink in 1970.
