James Hilles (Dublin) copper halfpenny token dated 1813. Obverse: Two men working at a mechanical rolling mill: “HALFPENNY TOKEN J . HILLES DUBLIN”. Reverse: A sprig of shamrock surrounded by legend “PAYABLE IN BANK OF IRELAND NOTES 1813”. Centre grained edge (\\\\\). James Hilles was a wholesale iron merchant with a business in Abbey Street, Dublin. Lovely collectable condition, see photograph.
