Copper Preferable to Paper Trade & Navigation (Not Local ) Anglo-Canadian copper penny dated 1813. Obverse: Legend on three lines in centre and around periphery: “PURE COPPER PREFERABLE TO PAPER ONE PENNY TOKEN”. Reverse: Commerce seated on bale holding olive sprig and winged caduceus with legend: “TRADE & NAVIGATION 1813”. Centre-grained edge (\\\\\). Good collectable condition, some edge bruising, see photograph.
