Scarce Phoenix (Non Local) copper penny token undated. Obverse: Value on three lines within wreath: “ONE PENNY TOKEN”. Reverse: A phoenix arising from a fire, all within a thin wreath. Centre grained edge (\\\\\). Struck on a Bristol sheathing Manufactory token. Listed in Paul & Bente Withers' "British Copper Tokens 1811-1820" as "SCARCE". Good collectable condition with clear evidence of the underlying token, see photograph.
