Scarce Flint (Flintshire) copper penny token dated 1813. Obverse: View of lead works, smoking away in full production with legend: “FLINT LEAD WORKS 1813”. Reverse: Legend: “ONE PENNY TOKEN” in centre, surrounded by: “ONE POUND NOTE FOR 240 TOKENS.”. Centre-grained edge. Listed in Paul & Bente Withers' "British Copper Tokens 1811-1820" as "SCARCE". Reasonable collectable condition for type, see photograph.
