Hobson & Sons Sheffield (Yorkshire) copper penny token dated 1812. Obverse: Arms consisting of eight arrows diagonally arranged between pheons and below wings with legend mostly incuse: “PAYABLE AT S. HOBSON & SON’S, BUTTON MANUFACTURERS. SHEFFIELD”. Reverse: Britannia seated holding trident and olive branch with ship on the horizon and legend: “ONE PENNY TOKEN 1812”. Centre-grained (/////) edge. Hobson & Son were button manufacturers with a business in Sheffield. Good collectable condition, see photograph.
