John Elliott’s Newcastle (Northumberland) copper farthing token dated 1814. Obverse legend: “JOHN ELLIOTT 1814 TOBACCONIST QUAY-SIDE NEWCASTLE”. Reverse: A tobacco plant in bloom with legend: "GENUINE * TOBACCO & SNUFF *". Plain edge. John Elliott was a tobacconist with a business in Newcastle however he is not mentioned in the business directory of 1809-11. Nice collectable condition without usual weak centres, see photograph.
