Obverse: Legend on four lines in centre and around periphery: “ONE POUND NOTE FOR 240 TOKENS • ONE PENNY PAYABLE BY”. Reverse: Legend on four lines in centre and around periphery: “JOB WILKES DARLASTON 1813”. Centre grained edge (\\\\\). Listed in Paul & Bente Withers' “British Copper Tokens 1811-1820” as “R - RARE”. Reasonable collectable condition with much detail of the original token clearly visible and some edge bruising, see photograph.
