Obverse: Legend on four lines in centre and around periphery: “ONE POUND NOTE FOR 240 TOKENS • ONE PENNY PAYABLE BY”. Reverse: Legend on four lines in centre: “JOB WILKES DARLASTON 1812”. Plain edge. Listed in Paul & Bente Withers' “British Copper Tokens 1811-1820” as “SCARCE”. Nice collectable condition for type with much detail of the original token clearly visible, see photograph.
