Very rare Royal Exchange Burton (Staffordshire) penny token undated. Obverse: Detailed view of a the Royal Exchange, London with legend: “PAYABLE AT THE EXCHANGE BURTON”. Reverse: Bust of druid to left with legend: “PURE COPPER PREFERABLE TO PAPER PENNY TOKEN ”. Centre grained edge (\\\\\). Listed in Paul & Bente Withers' "British Copper Tokens 1811-1820" as "RR - VERY RARE". Reasonable collectable condition for type, see photograph.
