Rare Sheathing & Nail Manufactory Bristol (Somerset) copper penny token dated 1811. Obverse: Sailing ship in centre with legend around periphery: “PATENT SHEATHING NAIL MANUFACTORY • BRISTOL •”. Reverse: Legend on three lines in centre and around periphery: “ONE PENNY TOKEN PAYABLE AT BRISTOL AND LONDON 1811”. Centre grained edge (\\\\\). Listed in Paul & Bente Withers' "British Copper Tokens 1811-1820" as "R - RARE". Good collectable condition with some light scratches on reverse exaggerated by photograph.
