Scarce Bradford Workhouse (Yorkshire) penny token countermarked on a Union Copper Company Birmingham penny dated 1812. Obverse: Two curved countermarks: "BRADFORD" and "WORKHOUSE". Listed in Paul & Bente Withers' "British Copper Tokens 1811-1820" as "SCARCE". Countermarking existing tokens was cheaper than issuing new ones.
