Rushbury & Woolley’s Bilston (Staffordshire) penny token dated 1811. Obverse: Bare-headed bust of George III to right draped in ermine with legend: “ONE POUND NOTE FOR 240 TOKENS 1811”. Reverse: View of the Royal Exchange with legend: “PAYABLE BY RUSHBURY & WOOLLEY BILSTON”. Plain edge. Rushbury and Woolley were manufacturers of metal and wooden objects such as parts for buckles, screws and locks. Good collectable condition with obverse struck from a rusty die, see photograph.
