Whitchurch & Dore's Bath Penny 1811

Whitchurch & Dore's Bath (Somerset) penny token dated 1811. Obverse: Suspended ram in centre with legend: “BATH TOKEN 1811”. Reverse: Legend on seven lines: “A POUND NOTE FOR 240 TOKENS GIVEN BY S. T. WHITCHURCH AND W. DORE”. Plain edge. Samuel Whitchurch was an ironmonger, smith, brazier, tinman and cutler while William Dore was a hatter, hosier mercer and draper, both with businesses in Bath. Good collectable condition with a couple of spots, see photograph.
