Scarce Wakeford's Andover Penny 1812

William Wakeford's Andover (Hampshire) copper penny token dated 1812. Obverse: Coat of Arms of Andover consisting of a lion beneath a tree with legend: “ANDOVER TOKEN * FOR ONE PENNY *”. Reverse: Legend on five lines within oak wreath with legend: “PAYABLE BY W. S. & I. WAKEFORD 1812”. Centre-grained edge. Listed as “SCARCE” in Paul & Bente Withers' “British Copper Tokens 1811-1820”. Good collectable condition with slightly uneven colour, see photograph.
