James VI Hardhead 1558 Issue


James VI (1567-1625) copper hardhead (two pence) issue of 1558. Obverse Crowned "IR" in centre with legend: "+ IACOBVS 6 D SCO ", (James by the grace of God King of Scotland). Reverse: Crowned lion rampant with two pellets, to indicate denomination, behind tail and legend: "+ VINCIT VERITAS ", (Truth prevails). Reasonable collectable condition, slightly off centre with a nice even green patina, see photograph.
