James VI (1567-1625) silver shilling. After accession to the English throne. Obverse: Rose with thistle mintmark: "I D. G. ROSA SINE SPINA", (James by the grace of God a rose without a thorn). Reverse: Thistle with thistle mintmark: "TVEATVR VNITA DEVS", (May God guard these united [kingdom]). Reasonable collectable condition for type, see photograph.
