James VI Thirty Shillings 1583

James VI (1567-1625) silver thirty shillings, Fourth Coinage, dated 1583. Obverse: Half-length figure of young armoured king to left holding sword with legend: "IACOBVS 6 DEI GRATIA REX SCOTORVM ", (James VI by the grace of God King of Scots). Reverse: Crowned Scottish arms separating "I" and "R" with value "XXX" and "S" either side and legend: "HONOR REGIS IVDICIVM DILIGIT 1583", (The King's power loveth judgement). Large round coin in reasonable collectable condition for type with usual flatness on bust as a result of its high relief, see photograph.
