Mary Queen of Scots (1542-1567) plack (four pence), dated 1557. Obverse: Crowned lion rampant shield dividing "MR" with legend: "MAR[IA • DEI •G] • SCOTOR • REGINA [• 1557]", (Mary by the grace of God Queen of Scots 1557). Reverse: Ornate cross with a cross in the centre panel and a crown in each angle with legend: "[SERV]IO ET • VSV • TER[OR •] 1557", (I serve and am worn by use 1557). Reasonable collectable condition with weak strike at edges on small flan, see photograph.
