James V (1513-1542), base silver, (.250 fineness) Edinburgh bawbee (six pence). Obverse: Crowned thistle with "I 5" either side with annulet above "I" and legend: "IACOBVS • D • G • REX • SCOTORVM". Reverse: Saltire cross with crown at centre and lis either side and legend with single pellet stop: "OPPIDVM • EDINBVRGI", (Town of Edinburgh).
