David II Third Coinage Edinburgh Groat

David II (1329-1371), silver groat (four pence), third (light) coinage (1367-1371), Edinburgh mint.  Obverse: Bust to left with star on sceptre handle, trefoils within tressure of six arcs, and double cross stops with legend: "[+DɅVID DEI] GRɅ REX ‡ SCOTO[RVM]". Reverse: Cross with mullets in each quarter with legend: "[+DNS P]TECTOR MS +&+ LIB ɅTO[RMS]", "VILLɅ EDINBVRGH". Reasonable collectable condition with strong portrait and some staining, see photograph.
