David II (1329-1371), silver groat (four pence), third (light) coinage (1367-1371), Edinburgh mint, Class 2a with plain "A" throughout. Obverse: Bust to left with star on sceptre handle, trefoils within tressure of six arcs, and double saltire stops with legend: "+DAVID DEI GRA REX SCOTORVM". Reverse: Cross with mullets in each quarter and double star stop after DNS on the outer circle with legend: "+DNS PTECTOR MS & LIB ATORMS", "VILLA EDINBVRGH".
