David II Third Coinage Edinburgh Groat

David II (1329-1371), silver groat (four pence), third (light) coinage (1367-1371), Type 2a, Edinburgh mint with double cross stops and plain "A" throughout.  Obverse: Bust to left with star on sceptre handle, trefoils within tressure of six arcs and legend: "DAVID DEI GRA REX SCOTORVM". Reverse: Cross with mullets in each quarter with "VILLA EDINBVRGH" on inner circle. Reasonable collectable condition on small flan with striking crack, see photograph.
