Alexander III (1249-1286), silver halfpenny, second coinage. Obverse: Bust to left with sceptre and legend: "+ALEXANDER DEI GRA". Reverse: Long cross with two mullets of six points in opposite quarters and legend: "REX SCOTORVM+". Less common variety with the reverse mullets in the 2nd and 4th quarters.
