Alexander III Berwick Penny Class "Mb2-M"



Alexander III (1249-1286), silver penny, second coinage, class Mb2-M with unbarred "A" and straight-sided letters without serifs on obverse (the "L" always has serifs) and with serifs on reverse. Four mullets of six points giving a total of twenty-four points thus indicating a supposed mint town of Berwick. Good collectable condition with a small edge chip and slightly light strike in centres, see photograph.
