Alexander III (1249-1286), second coinage, silver mule penny, class Mb2/M. Obverse: Bust to left with with unbarred "A" and straight-sided letters mostly without serifs and legend: "+ALEXANDER DEI GRA". Reverse: Four mullets of six points giving a total of twenty-four points thus indicating a supposed mint town of Berwick. Reverse lettering showing incurved uprights and "R" with curved foot.
