Alexander III (1249-1286), First Coinage silver penny, type IIId, Aberdeen Mint, moneyer Ion. Obverse: Neat bust left with small crown and legend: "ALEXANDER REX º". Reverse: Long voided cross with stars in quarters and legend: "ION ON. AB ERD". Burns Fig. 137 same obverse die. Burns Fig. 136 same reverse die. Good collectable condition on smallish flan, see photograph.
