William the Lion (1165-1214), silver cut halfpenny, late issue, Phase B, class IV. These were supposedly officially cut at the mint prior to issue to provide small change for circulation. Obverse legend: "[+L]E REI W[ILT]". Reverse legend: "SVR EL [IRNEH]" retrograde (backwards), should read "HENRI LE RVS". Ex-Sazama Collection. Good collectable condition, see photograph.
