Kendal R&D Sailing Ship Halfpenny 1794

Kendal (Westmoreland – now Cumbria) copper Conder halfpenny token undated. Obverse: A man-of-war ship in full sail to right: “THE GUARD & GLORY OF BRITAIN”. Reverse: Cypher of “R&D” crested by a lion: “KENDAL”. Edge inscription: “PAYABLE IN DUBLIN OR LONDON”. Only seven token types were issued for Kendal. Nice collectable condition with some original lustre remaining, see photograph.
