Rare Robert Reynold's Coventry (Warwickshire) copper halfpenny token dated 1794. Obverse: Lady Godiva riding side-saddle on horse to left with legend: “PRO BONO PUBLICO 1794”. Reverse: Nice representation of old Coventry town cross with legend: “COVENTRY HALFPENNY”, “COV CROSS” at base. Edge inscription: “PAYABLE AT THE WAREHOUSE OF ROBERT REYNOLDS & CO”. Reynolds & Co., were ribbon weavers with a business in Coventry. Listed as "R - RARE" in Dalton & Hamer but obviously not so. Good collectable condition with the usual die flaws, see photograph.
