1794. Obverse: Beehive between shrub and rose bush within a beaded
border with legend: “INDUSTRY, THE SOURCE OF CONTENT.”. Reverse: Arms of
the port of Sandwich with legend: “WINCHELSEA HALFPENNY 1794”. Edge
inscription: “PAYABLE AT RICHARD MAPLESDENS WINCHELSEA .X.+”. Richard
Maplesden had a grocer and draper’s business in Winchelsea. Reasonable
