Ring’s
Frant (Sussex) halfpenny token dated 1794. Obverse: The monogram
cypher, "G R" in floral script capitals surmounted by a lamb with
legend: "FOR THE PUBLIC GOOD 1794". Reverse: The Arms of the City of
Chichester consisting of a triple-towered castle on a shield with legend: "SUSSEX
HALFPENNY TOKEN". Edge inscription: "PAYABLE BY G. RING FRANT". Ring is
thought to have had a draper's business in Frant. Nice collectable
