Scarce Boorman's East Grinstead Masonic Halfpenny 1795

Scarce Boorman’s East Grinstead (Sussex) copper halfpenny token dated 1795. Obverse: The coat of arms of the Society of Free Masons with legend: “PRO BONO PUBLICO”. Reverse: Cypher of “JHB” in centre with scales above and date below with legend: “EAST GRINSTEAD HALFPENNY 1795”. Edge inscription: “PAYABLE AT I + H BOORMAN OXOXO. Listed in Bell’s “Commercial Coins 1787-1804.” as “SCARCE”. Boorman was a grocer and draper with a business in East Grinstead, and possibly also a Free Mason. Nice collectable condition for type with uneven colour exaggerated by photograph.
