Very rare Horton's Stafford (Staffordshire) copper halfpenny token dated 1797. Obverse: The Armorial bearings of the Town of Stafford, a triple-towered castle within four lions with legend: “STAFFORD 1797”. Reverse: A cypher “WH” in ornamental script and legend: “HALFPENNY”. Plain edge. Lusted in Dalton & Hamer as: “RR - VERY RARE”. William Horton was a boot and shoe manufacturer with a business in Stafford. Nice collectable condition, see photograph.
