Scarce Horton's Stafford (Staffordshire) copper Conder penny token dated 1803. Obverse: The Armorial bearings of the Town of Stafford, a triple-towered castle within four lions: “STAFFORD 1803”. Reverse: A cypher “WH” in ornamental script: “PENNY”. Edge inscription: “PAYABLE BY HORTON AND COMPANY X X X”. William Horton was a boot and shoe manufacturer with a business in Stafford.
