Ferrier's Tay Bridge & Fisherman Perth Halfpenny

Ferrier's Perth (Perthshire) copper halfpenny token undated. Obverse: Salmon fisherman dragging a net ashore beside a beached boat, the bank is lumpy behind him, and legend, "RETE TRAHITO FAUSTE", "WRIGHT JUN.R DES". Reverse: City crest below a bridge with distant hills in background and legend, "PERTH HALFPENNY", "TAY BRIDGE", "FINISH-ED 1770". Edge inscription: "PAYABLE ON DEMAND BY JOHN FERRIER". John Ferrier was a hosier with a business in Perth. Ex-Michael Paterson Collection, comes with his ticket. Less common variety in nice collectable condition the with usual reverse die flaws at a very early stage of development, see photograph.
