Scarce George Jobson’s Northampton (Northamptonshire) copper halfpenny token dated 1794. Obverse: Bareheaded bust to left with legend: “GEORGE JOBSON . BANKER. 1794”. Reverse: A three turreted castle gateway over a lion with raised paw and legend: “MAY NORTHAMPTON FLOURISH.”. Plain edge. It is believed that George Jobson was a local banker.
