Spence's Bull with Ass's Head London Farthing 1794

Spence’s State Prisoner London (Middlesex) copper Conder farthing token dated 1794. Obverse: Bust of Spence to left: "T. SPENCE. A STATE PRISONER IN 1794". Reverse: A man (George III ?) riding a bull with an ass's head: "AM I NOT THINE ASS". Plain edge. Thomas Spence was a reformer who rarely missed an opportunity to attack the politics of the day and spent some time in prison for his efforts. Interesting token in lovely collectable condition, slightly off-centre, see photograph.
