Reverse: Flame on altar with inscription “HAMPDEN & SIDNEY” on front, and irradiating cap of liberty above with legend: “SACRED TO LIBERTY”. Diagonally milled edge. Charles, Earl Stanhope was a popular figure and gifted philosopher, scientist, author and politician. Nice collectable condition, see photograph.
