Scarce Rupert Street, London (Middlesex) copper halfpenny token undated. Obverse: Arms, supporters and crest of the Curriers' Company with legend: "HALFPENNY". Reverse: A plough with a banner above reading: "GOD SPEED THE PLOUGH", with legend below: "PAYABLE IN RUPERT STREET ST. JAMSE'S". Plain edge. It is not known who the issuer was. Currying was the final preparation in curing leather. Listed in Bell's "Commercial Coins 1787-1804" as "SCARCE". Nice collectable condition, neatly lacquered in the past, see photograph.
