Hall’s London (Middlesex) copper halfpenny token undated. Obverse: An elaborate toucan perched on the stump of a tree with legend: "TO . THE . CURIOUS . OBSERVERS . OF . NATURAL . PHÆNOMENA". Reverse: Legend in centre and in double border round periphery: "T . HALL . PRESERVER . OF . BIRDS . BEASTS . OR . REPTILES . CITTY. ROAD . NEAR . FINSBURY . SQUARE . THE . 1ST . ARTIST IN EUROPE". Diagonally milled edge (\\\\\). Thomas Hall was a taxidermist, curiosity dealer, and proprietor of an exhibition of stuffed animals located at 10 City Road, London. Nice collectable condition with usual light strike in centre of reverse, see photograph.
