Scarce William Forster's London (Middlesex) copper halfpenny token dated 1795. Obverse: Prince of Wales' feathers in centre with double legend: “WM FORSTER VIOLIN TENOR & VIOLINCELLO MAKER * No. 348 STRAND LONDON.”. Reverse: Crown in centre surrounded by the sheet music for the National Anthem, with legend: “GOD SAVE THE KING 1795”. Plain edge. Listed in Bell's “Tradesmen's Tickets and Private Tokens” as "SCARCE". William Forster manufactured musical instruments with his business located on the Strand, London.
