Davidson's London (Middlesex) copper Conder halfpenny token dated 1795. Obverse: A view of the seated “Mistress of the Metropolis” with St. Paul's Cathedral in the background and legend: “SISE LANE HALFPENNY 1795”. Reverse: A radiating triangle balanced on a sphere and held by two hands with a crown above with legend: “BRITISH CONSTITUTION KING LORDS COMMONS”. Edge inscription: “PAYABLE AT THE HOUSE OF T. & R. DAVIDSONS”. T & R Davidsons were Pocket Book publishers with a business at 18 Sise Lane, Bucklersbury, London. Davidson was a supporter of Parliament during this period of political instability.
