Rare Abraham Seward's Lancaster (Lancashire) gold coloured gilt copper penny token dated 1794. Obverse: View of Lancaster Castle with legend: “LANCASTER CASTLE”. Reverse: View of Lancaster Bridge with legend: “LANCASTER BRIDGE A • SEWARD • 1794”. Plain edge. Abraham Seward was a brass and bell founder with his business in Market Street, Lancaster. Listed in Dalton & Hamer as: “R - RARE”. Good collectable with the gilding worn at high relief, see photograph.
