Rare Myn's Goudhurst (Kent) copper Conder halfpenny token dated 1794. Obverse: Kentish horse prancing to the left with legend: “KENT HALFPENNY TOKEN 1794”. Reverse: Shield of arms of the City of Canterbury with legend: “FOR GENERAL CONVENIENCE”. Edge inscription: “PAYABLE BY W. MYNS GOUDHURST + + + +”. Listed in Dalton & Hamer and Bell as “R - RARE”. William Myns was a freeholder and general shopkeeper with a business in Goudhurst. Good collectable condition for type with the usual flaw at the date, see photograph. D&H Kent No: 29.
