Thomas King's Brookland (Kent) copper halfpenny token dated 1794. Obverse: The Armorial device of Kent consisting of a prancing horse within an oval border of pellets with legend: "KENT HALFPENNY PAYABLE AT.". Reverse: A hanging fleece above the cypher "J K" in script capitals with legend: "GROCER AND DRAPER 1794". Edge inscription: "PAYABLE AT THOMAS KING'S BROOKLAND +.+.+.+.+". Thomas King was a grocer and draper in Brookland, a village not far from Appledore. Nice collectable condition, see photograph. D&H Kent No: 5. Diameter 29.5mm.
