John Jordan’s Gosport (Hampshire) copper halfpenny token dated 1794. Obverse: Helmeted profile of Sir Bevois facing left with legend: “PROMISSORY HALFPENNY.”. The issuer, John Jordan, was a mercer and draper with premises in Gosport.
