Cornwall County (Cornwall) copper Conder halfpenny token dated 1791. Obverse: Hooded bust of a Druid with a flowing beard within a wreath of oak branches. Reverse: Arms of the Duchy of Cornwall surmounted by a ducal coronet: “CORNISH COPPER HALF AN OUNCE 1791”. Plain edge. Designed by Dröz and manufactured by Boulton. It is described in Bell’s “Commercial Coins 1787-1804” as: “one of the handsomest coins of the whole series and of full weight”. Good collectable condition, discoloured, peeling lacquer removed with acetone leaving reflective surfaces not picked up in photograph. D&H Cornwall No: 2. Diameter 29.1mm.
