Scarce Dr. Stuart's Glasgow farthing token dated 1841. Obverse: Two seated male figures, one taking the other's pulse with legend: "PRIVATE MEDICAL ESTABLISHMENT 1841 HONOUR". Reverse: View of a woman breast-feeding a child with legend: "DR STUART - 39 MAXWELL STREET GLASGOW - MIDWIFERY AND NURSING.". Plain edge. Dr. John Knox Stuart was a qualified medical practitioner who advertised his services extensively and died on 19th August 1854. Listed Bell's "Unofficial Farthings Supplement" as "SCARCE".
