Rare Dr. Stuart's Glasgow farthing token dated 1841. Obverse: Two seated male figures, one taking the other's pulse with legend: "PRIVATE MEDICAL ESTABLISHMENT HONOUR 1841". Reverse: View of a woman breast-feeding a child with incuse legend: "PRIVATE MEDICAL ESTABLISHMENT 1841". Plain edge. Listed Bell's "Unofficial Farthings - A Supplement" as "RARE". Dr. John Knox Stuart was a qualified medical practitioner who advertised his services extensively and died on 19th August 1854. Ex-MacMillan Collection. Nice collectable condition, see photograph.
